Maratac Zipper Pull-Hi Viz on an RAF MK3 Jacket (December 13th Post)

Today, I’d like to talk about my beloved “Maratac Zipper Pull-Hi Viz.” It’s been over half a year since I last introduced it, so let’s have a quick recap.

As the name “zipper pull” suggests, it’s an item that makes it easier to open and close zippers by providing a larger gripping point. It’s made with a photoluminescent material that absorbs light from sources like the sun or a lamp and then glows naturally in the dark. You can attach it to zippers, keys, keychains, bags, and more as a handy marker. And for vintage, military, and workwear enthusiasts, it’s the best part: Made in the USA!!

Last time, I attached it to a US Army IPFU jacket, but if we’re talking about the US military, the next one has to be the British military, right? So this time, I chose the iconic MK3 jacket. Its boxy silhouette with a wide body and short length is a truly trendy and attractive design.

However, the MK3 has a sleek fly-front design that hides the zipper from view. The zipper, positioned slightly above the hem, also conceals the cord, leaving only the glowing part subtly peeking out!!

This… could actually work!!

…Or so I thought, with my hopes rising. I had completely forgotten one crucial thing…

If you attach it where it can’t get enough light, it won’t glow, let alone charge…

Well, once again, it ended up not being able to glow sufficiently, but I still recommend it to those who want to add a touch of quirkiness to their outfits or those who, like me, enjoy a subtle peekaboo effect!!
